My, my, my, it’s a Beautiful World

I like to keep things light and fun here on the site, but man, the world sure has been filled with a lot of hatred lately, hasn’t it? Here in America…in other parts of the world…everywhere. It seems like more and more people hate each other every day. Yes, it can be argued that there’s always been a lot of hate in the world and unfortunately, that would be be a very valid argument.

But the thing that drives me crazy is…why does it have to be this way? People hate each other because of having different skin colors, different religions, different politics, different opinions, etc. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

Why can’t we all just be friends? Yeah, I know, probably too much to ask for there, huh? Okay, then why can’t we all just try to respect each other? That shouldn’t be too much to ask for, right? Would it really be that difficult for everyone to try to do?

What’s so funny about peace, love, and understanding? More importantly, why are those things so hard to achieve?

It’s all actually very simple…or at least it should be. We may never all totally get along and I understand that. But we should not hate each other just because we’re different from each other. If you really hate someone else just because they’re a different religion or color than you or have different politics than you, then you really need to WAKE UP and look at the real big picture.

Beneath all of the hatred out there, it really is a beautiful world. And it’s not even that far beneath the hatred. It’s right there…for all of us. There’s so much out there for all of us to enjoy, for all of us to love.

So, let’s not waste it all because of stupid things like hatred. All we have to do is be nice to each other and try to respect each others’ differences. It really is that simple.

My Most Favorite Thing

The day started like most days. We woke in our bed and she made a joke about how crazy I drove her with my snoring during the night. It was probably the five-thousandth time she made the joke, and I sincerely laughed for probably the five-thousandth time.

She smiled at me and then we leaned in close to each other and kissed. We pecked each other on the lips. Then quickly did it again. The next kiss came and it lasted much longer than the other ones did. We kept kissing and I did what I always do when we kiss…

I got lost.

bedLost in her and lost in us. Lost in the very real dream that is my life.

As we continued to kiss, it dawned on me that if someone were to ask me what my most favorite thing in the world is, I would say, without a doubt, that it was kissing my wife. It fills my heart each and every time.

We eventually made it out of bed and went about the rest of the morning. In the middle of the afternoon, we decided to lie back down in bed and listen to some music.

Before the first song had even finished, we were kissing again. It was even more incredible than it had been in the morning. It wasn’t long before we both got undressed.

This led to…well, exactly where you think it led to. I’m not going to say much more about it here. I love my wife entirely too much to share the details of those intimate moments with anyone other than her.

I’ll just say that it was absolutely amazing. It always is with us.

When we finished, I wondered if I’d been wrong earlier about kissing being my most favorite thing in the world. Maybe, what I’d just done with my wife, was my absolute most favorite.

Then again, why can’t it be a tie between the two things? hands

We drifted off to sleep. When we awoke a few hours later, I wrapped my arms around her and held her as tightly as I could. No words were spoken by either of us. None needed to be. Holding her like that was exactly what each of us wanted. Needed.

There’s nothing like holding her. I could never have enough time doing it. There’s never a point when I want to let go.

I wondered if this was actually it. Was holding her truly my most favorite thing in the world? It certainly felt like it, but so did the other two things.

I decided it was a three-way tie.

We laid there for a little while longer. She touched my cheek and looked into my eyes. “I love you more than anything,” she said.

Okay, so I guess that’s it. It’s a four-way tie for my most favorite thing in the world.

I Just Got Engaged!

If you’re friends with me on other social media sites, you probably already saw me share this fantastic news. If not, well, guess what…

I got engaged yesterday to The Most Amazing Person In The World.

Yeah. That’s her.  My wonderful Lisa.

There are so many things I want to say here, to share with you all about how I’m feeling, but I’m still kind of speechless and in awe that this woman who I love so much has agreed to spend the rest of her life with me.

I’ve never been happier and what’s mind-boggling is that I know it’s just going to keep getting better and better.

I’m going to go now and return to the cloud I’ve been floating on for the last 24 hours or so. I have a feeling I’m going to be up there for a very, very long time.  🙂
